Ripe ramphal is brown or
yellowish in colour. Inside it is white with many black seeds. Unripe fruit is
used to cure diarrhoea and dysentery. The bark of the tree is used on gums to
cure tooth ache and the leaves are used as a cure for cancer and tumour. The
leaves are also used in the manufacture of dyes, inks, stains and tattoos. The
whole plant is a source of hydrogen cyanide. The oil from the seed is used to
prepare bio diesel in USA.
