Avacado is also called ‘butter fruit’ since the pulp is as soft as butter. The good point about this fruit is that it never ripens when on the tree. So it can be plucked when needed. It takes 2 days to ripen even after it has been plucked. The pulp is mixed with sugar and eaten. Some people even eat the pulp with salt and pepper.
Avacado is rich in vitamin C, B6, K and potassium. It gives a lot of energy. It is considered a complete food and hence sometimes babies are weaned using mashed avocado fruit.
Benefits:
1. Avacado is both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It protects our body from infections.
2. Skin: Avacado is a great antioxidant and hence keeps skin healthy.
3. Avacado has been used traditionally to cure sexual problems.
4. Avacado paste is applied on skin to make it smooth and cure rashes.
5. Cancer: Avacado is rich in beta-carotene which helps keep cancer away.
6. Sunburn: Avacado skin can be rubbed on the burn area to reduce the pain.
7. Eating avocado daily when you are recovering from a disease will make you strong.
Danger: It is recommended not to take avocado fruit if you are taking antidepressant monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI). Also avocado is rich in calories and hence not good for those who are trying to lose weight.
