        Ground nuts are also called ‘earth nuts’, ‘peanuts’, ‘shenga’, etc. Roasted salted goundnuts form a very much loved snacks. Unpeeled groundnut is also called monkey nut. Monkeys are also very much fond of the nut. The nuts are formed under the ground. Ground nuts are eaten raw, roasted or cooked. Powdered nuts are used in so many dishes. Oil extracted from the nut is very popular.
Peanuts are very rich source of proteins.
Benefits:
1. Take 1tsp of groundnut oil and mix with 1tsp of lime juice and apply to face to prevent formation of blackheads.
2. Peanut oil is used in the manufacture of paint, varnish, lubricating oil, leather dressings, insecticides, furniture polish, cosmetics and nitro-glycerine.
3. Protein portion of the oil is used to manufacture textile fibre. It is also used as animal feed.
4. Peanut shells are used in the manufacture of plastic, wall board, abrasives, paper, glue and fuel.
5. Peanut leaves are used as hey.
6. Peanuts are also used to make a milk-like drink called peanut milk.
7. Paste made out of the nuts is called peanut butter and is used with bread.
8. Peanuts are a good source of niacin and hence they are good for the brain.
9. Peanuts are rich in antioxidants. Roasting increases the antioxidants content. 
10. Groundnuts are a good source of resveratrol, a chemical with anti-aging effects. Hence eating groundnuts daily can keep you young.
11. Regular consumption of groundnuts reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases and caner.
12. Peanuts are a good source of coenzyme Q10 along with spinach and soybean.
Danger: Groundnut can sometimes trigger allergic reactions causing hives, swelling of lips, eyes and upset stomach.
