Pomogranate or ‘dalimba’ are so beautifu to look at from outside and from inside. The seeds inside look like red pearls. Due to the beauty they are used to garnish salads, ice creams, desserts and other food items. They are also very sweet to eat raw. They are so attractive and healthy. The red colour can create a stain on your dress so you have to be careful when eating dalimba.
        Dalimba has vitamin A,B,C,E and minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, etc.  The heavier the fruit, more the juice in it. Purchase dalimba which is evenly coloured on the surface.
Benefits:
1. Dalimba is loaded with anti oxidants and hence it helps lower blood pressure.
2. Diarrhoea: Dry peel of dalimba eaten with curd is good fro diarrhoea.
3. Blood in stools: Boil the peel of dalimba in water with jeera and ginger. Drink it to stop blood in stools.
4. Throat pain: Boil dalimba flower in water and gargle to remove throat pain.
5.  The branches and bark of dalimba tree are used to produce tannin.
6. Dalimba flower and peel are used by the cloth industry for the red colour.
7. Dalimba leaves are soaked in vinegar to produce ink.
8. Body heat: Drink pomegranate juice with 2-3 drops of almond oil.
8. Loss of appetite: Drink pomegranate juice with black pepper powder and salt.
