This red coloured fruit is a delight for the eye and the tongue. Plum has a single seed. It can be eaten raw or made into jam, jelly, juice, etc. Plum juice is fermented to prepare wine. Dried plum is called prune.
Benefits:
1. Plums are packed with anti oxidants.
2. Plum helps regulate the digestive system. It is full of dietary fibre, sorbitol and isatin. Hence plum has a laxative effect.
3. Dry plums are very good for the nerves for they are rich in phosphorus.
4. Prunes are good for the brain and blood.
Danger: Plum seeds contain compounds that are harmful and hence consuming seeds can be dangerous.   Plums themselves are a bit acidic and hence consuming many plums can cause over acidity.
